Old Cars Weekly auction expert Ron Kowalke looks ahead to some upcoming auctions and recaps some of the highlights from a couple of recent sales in the old car hobby. Check out the highs and lows, and what some very interesting cars fetched recently when they crossed the block.
New book focuses on one of the mainstays in automotive history – the Mustang. Author Jerry Heasely has used photos of both original and restored Shelby Mustangs to tell the story of the fabled Ford-Shelby partnership that began in the early '60s and continues today.

Despite the recent downward trend in gasoline prices, the fear of filling up and anguish while pulling up to the pump is still a regular response. One of the only places where pumps are greeted with enthusiasm is in the company of gas pump collectors, and those passionate about petroliana – such as at the 22nd annual Iowa Gas event.
Following a record-breaking inaugural sale last year,  RM Auctions, in association with Sotheby’s, will return to Battersea Park, October 29th  for its  annual ‘Automobiles of London’ event. Over 75 exquisite vintage automobiles are expected to roll into central London for the single-day event, including an ultra-rare, luxurious 1938 Horch 853 Special Roadster and a stunning 1938 Bugatti Type 57C Atalante.
